MagicRemoteService¶
> Use your LG Magic Remote as a Windows mouse and control your PC from your LG webOS TV.
MagicRemoteService pairs with a Windows companion app to let your Magic Remote drive your PC's mouse and keyboard, with Wake-on-LAN support to power it on from the couch.
This is a Homebrew Channel packaging of the original MagicRemoteService project by Cathwyler, which is normally installed via a one-off Developer Mode push from its Windows companion app. This variant lets it install and stay installed permanently through Homebrew Channel instead.
Features¶
- Use the Magic Remote as a Windows mouse (pointer, clicks, scroll wheel)
- Wake-on-LAN to power on your PC from the remote
- Remote-mapped shortcuts (right click, Windows menu, escape, copy/paste, arrow keys)
- Pop up the webOS keyboard for text entry on the PC
Setup¶
You'll still need the Windows companion app from the upstream project to configure the PC side and pair it with your TV — this package only replaces how the TV-side app/service gets installed.
